IUE academics among the world's top 2% scientists
The ‘World's Most Influential Scientists List’, which was created as a result of the evaluation made among thousands of academics around the world, was prepared in two different categories as ‘career-long impact’ and ‘annual impact’. While creating the list, many criteria such as the number of publications and citations by scientists, author rankings, and the 'h-index', which measures both productivity and citation impact of academics, were taken into account.
INTERNATIONAL PATENTS
Prof. Dr. Levent Eren, IUE Vice Rector and Faculty Member of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, works on the development of innovative and fundamental techniques in the fields of fast transformation algorithms and machine learning. Prof. Dr. Eren also has 2 international patents on motor vehicle early warning systems. Prof. Dr. Eren, whose primary areas of interest are digital signal processing and power systems, also has many international papers and articles on motor fault early warning systems, energy quality, and signal processing techniques.
Prof. Dr. Türker İnce, on the other hand, carries out studies on the development of new techniques in the fields of pattern recognition and machine learning and their applications to different fields. Prof. Dr. Türker İnce has 3 international patents in the field of machine learning applications. He is known for his success in basic research areas such as machine learning, pattern recognition, artificial neural networks, signal processing, optimization, biomedical engineering, and remote sensing.
MADE A DIFFERENCE WITH HIS WORK
Prof. Dr. Aydın Akan has made a difference in the field of digital signal processing, biomedical systems, image processing and communication technologies. Prof. Dr. Akan has worked as a coordinator and researcher in many projects supported by TUBITAK and university scientific research projects units. Prof. Akan also wrote books and articles on his research and his papers were published abroad. Prof. Dr. Akan continues to serve on the referee board of scientific journals and on the advisory, executive, organizing, technical program and referee boards of scientific conferences.
COMPLETED HIS MASTER’S AND DOCTORATE IN USA
Prof. Dr. Murat Bengisu from the Department of Industrial Design at IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design has made a difference with his work in the field of material science, as well as technological forecasting and design. He completed his master's and doctorate in the United States at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Prof. Dr. Murat Bengisu has received national and international awards and has published numerous articles and books internationally. He has also taken on the role of project coordinator at TUBITAK.
