Erasmus Teaching Staff Mobility
Erasmus Teaching Staff Mobility is the sub-category which allows faculty members to give lectures in a higher education institutions of European countries which has Erasmus University Charter.
The objectives of the Erasmus Teaching Assignments are:
- To allow students who are not able to participate in a mobility scheme, to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of academic staff from higher education institutions in other European countries
- To promote exchange of expertise and experience on pedagogical methods
- To encourage higher education institutions to broaden and enrich the range and content of courses they offer.
The teaching assignments may be carried out by teaching staff from higher education institutions or by invited staff from enterprises. In all cases, teachers undertaking a teaching assignment must be integrated into the department or faculty of the host institution.
The partner higher education institutions must have agreed in advance on the program of lectures to be delivered by the visiting teachers. Where the person carrying out the assignment is from a higher education institution, the assignment must be based on an inter-institutional agreement between the home and host institution.
In the case of staff from an enterprise to a university, the mobility assignment is arranged by an invitation of the higher education institution to the staff member of the enterprise. The grant is always managed by the higher education institution.
Erasmus Agreements & Quotas
Izmir University of Economics has Erasmus agreements with a great sum of universities around Europe which helps much more students/academics benefit from the program.
Quotas are valid for a whole academic year and can not be renewed at the end of each semester.
The academics participating in the program are required to give at least a 8-hour lecture at the host institution.
