IUE ARCHITECT IN VENICE
Seyit Koyuncu, a junior at Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), is among the 122 students selected for Vardiya / The Shift titled project that will be exhibited at the Pavilion of Turkey at the 16th Venice International Architecture Biennale on May 26 – November 25, 2018. Within the scope of Vardiya / The Shift, architecture students will be attending both the biennale and various workshops for one week.
Pavilion of Turkey, under the coordination of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), will become more than an exhibition area. It will become a place of production, gathering, and greeting with the participation of students. One of the 122 students selected, IUE student Koyuncu stated that Pavilion of Turkey would offer an exhibition that will develop and grow with products throughout the event. Koyuncu said, “Vardiya / The Shift will be showcasing the individual and collective products of young, creative minds. We, architecture students, will go to Venice on weekly shifts during the 16th Venice International Architecture Biennale. It is such a great opportunity to attend this biennale. Last year, we attended FabFest'17, the design festival in London, with our pop up city themed urban design, which received the most number of tweets in London. Our design came in first place in impressive design category. I will be returning from Venice Biennale with new experiences”.
