American Corner
American Corner implementation was developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of USA and these corners were established in universities, public libraries, or chambers of commerce in various countries around the world.
The main aim of the foundation of American Corners is to assist people in getting the accurate information about US education system, culture, and history by directing them to the appropriate resources. After the foundation of first American Corner (AC) in Russia, Turkey is the second country where American Corners were established.
Today, there are approximately 300 American Corners around different parts of the world, Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. In Turkey, there are 5 American Corners located in İzmir, Bursa, Gaziantep, Kayseri, and Erzurum.
The American Corner located in the library of IUE aims to inform people in and around Izmir about the cultural life and education system of USA.
